CASEE Conference 2017

All good things come in eights:

The 8th CASEE Conference "Sustainable development in Europe – cooperation between science and practice - What’s the position of Central and South Eastern Europe?” was held at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Poland from 14-16 May 2017.

Sustainable development as overarching question of the conference refers to the recently released Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations, which are not only in place for the Developing World, but also relevant for Europe and especially for important multipliers like institutions for education and research gathered in the CASEE network.

Fund for Incentives 2017

The CASEE Board has decided upon the supported projects for this year's FfI:

The Danube AgriFood Master Summer School, held at the University of Novi Sad in July 2017, coordinated by Dragana Savic from UNS & the project "Determining the influence of cover crops on soybean production and environmental life cycle assessment", coordinated by Pia Euteneuer from BOKU were chosen. Both projects will receive 8,000 € funding.

Congratulations to all project members and the board also wanted to thank all project teams, who submitted a proposal.

DREAM: Europe-wide unique research facility established at the Danube River

Within the scope of the EU-Project SEDDON, a unique research channel was built at the Danube River. The new facility offers new ways of approaching different questions of flood control, hydropower, shipping etc. On the 8th of June, 2015 the facility was presented in a festive event to the public.

CASEE Summer School 2017

“Ethics, Quantity and Quality Assurance in Agriculture, Food Production and Food Technology”

From 3 July until 12 July 2017 the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Novi Sad hosted this year's CASEE summer school and prepared the stage for stimulating discussions, interactive workshops, lectures and field trips.

The Summer School was organized within the framework and with the partner institutions of the Joint Master's Degree Programme in Sustainability in Agriculture, Food Production and Food Technology in the Danube Region.

"Internationalizing CASEE network by introducing innovative mobility activities and defining quality criteria"

In December 2015, a new CASEE project was funded by the IMPULSE programme of OeAD (Austrian agency for international mobility and cooperation in education, science and research): CASEE-In. The aim of the project is to develop guidelines for internationalisation of universities and e-learning courses to prepare Master students for presentations at scientific conferences.
