The summer school program included: introductory and methodological workshops conducted by the organizers, lectures and workshops conducted by teachers from partner universities and study visits to farms and enterprises which implement sustainable food production. After each study visit, reflection sessions were conducted, where the students and teachers discussed and analyzed the visits, based on the SWOT analysis and the IFOAM criteria.
In total, there were 10 lectures, two workshops, four study visits, four reflection sessions, a visit to the Arboretum; one of the largest botanical gardens of its kind in Poland, and an excursion to the heritage park in Maurzyce near Łowicz, which collects monuments of folk architecture. They worked together in four groups, their goal being to analyze and evaluate, on the basis of IFOAM criteria and SWOT analysis, the most important aspects of the sustainable food production chain by interacting with stakeholders from case study visits. Students provided ppt presentations for all the discussed cases, which were evaluated by a committee which consisted of teachers participating in the summer school.
